The certificate will be composed of 24 credit hours of general education courses and 6 hours of college level elective courses. The certificate will allow students to take courses needed for their intended major. It can also serve as a milestone and/or exit point in an associate degree at LSUE and eventually a baccalaureate degree at the student’s transfer institution. The certificate can also provide a more formal structure for students attending LSUE that are not pursuing their associate degree.
Upon successful completion of the program, students will be able to:
1. demonstrate effective communication of complex knowledge and ideas.
2. use processes, data, or evidence to solve problems and make effective decisions.
3. apply knowledge of natural science to the exploration and analysis of natural phenomena.
4. demonstrate an understanding of the cultural traditions and the human condition through a broad-based study of historical, cultural, and philosophical concepts.
5. demonstrate an understanding of human behavior and the relationship between individuals and their societies.
6. demonstrate an aesthetic and historical understanding of the arts.
