Students may enroll in the Technical Diploma Program in Medical and Health Services Leadership after completing the Certificate in Technical Studies in Medical Records and Health Information Technology . The diploma is designed for individuals who plan, direct, coordinate, and supervise the delivery of health care and who serve as medical and health services managers, both for specific clinical departments and for entire facilities or systems. Employment opportunities are expected to grow fastest in practioners’ offices and home health care services.

Technical Programs in Medical and Health Services

The health care industry needs employees in a variety of positions that involve processing and managing information to keep patient records, handle billing, and complete insurance claims. Employees must be familiar with medical terminology and coding and must know the correct procedures to manage medical and health information efficiently. The Division of Health Sciences and Business Technology offers a diploma and certificate in the medical and health services field.

Note: Plans are to discontinue this prorgam beginning Fall 2015. Students currently in the program will be allowed to graduate as long as they complete the certificate by the end of summer session 2016.
