In-depth coverage of perioperative concepts such as aseptic/sterile principles and practices, organization of the operating room, infection control, sterilization, patient positioning and prepping, hemostasis, infectious process, wound healing, and creation and maintenance of the sterile field.

Prerequisite(s): Selective admission into the Surgical Technology Program. Completion of all Pre-requisites with a grade of “C” or better.
Corequisite(s): SURT 1001, SURT 1003, and SURT 1103
